The Zoog and Me

Description

On Thursday, September 15th, ever since I did that picture with Lovecraftian monsters, I felt inspired. I can just picture a colleague (or a college student) that encounters a Zoog in her dormority and stumbles into the Dreamland. I thought I'd give this idea a try. Like an experiment to test if this will ever work.

I give this Zoog, the citizens of the south of the Dreamland, a unique feature. Like light green eyes and three stripes on the front and back. He is named Phillip, named by the college student after Howard Phillips (H.P.) Lovecraft.

* Amos Marx, an athletic yet bibliophilic fan of Lovecraft, realizes that his Zoog has just ate a Persian, owned by an English teacher, Mrs. Byerlee. You can tell by that collar with the name tag. Well, if you look back on the Lovecraft research, cats are natural enemies to Zoogs and the cats happen to be such delicious option, other than funguses.

* Now, let's say that this was set before that Zoog became his pet. When Amos was sleep, he thought he heard something around his dorm. He turns on the light and there was the Zoog on his table. At first, the Zoog wants to attack him, but ((since Amos read a lot of Lovecraft's work)) Marx remembers that any shiny will soothe it. So he gives him a shiny key to his old car that was crashed from one car accident like a year ago. It appeases the beast as Amos wonders about the Zoog. Just then, Amos got interested that such animal like him existed. He even gives him a piece of left over steak, which really loves it. Amos then wants to have him, but the zoog warns him that he is nobody's pet, but he is interested in being an ally. Amos knows they can be untrustworthy sometimes. So in this part, we see that a contract or deed is being made as he tells him to sign there. It's true that once an ally to a human, they can't trust or be nice to human's friend. That is, if they had something shiny like a trinket. ((Sorry if this seems so long, but I thought it would be best to make this small backstory))

* The Dreamland can appear anywhere. In your sleep, most of the time. But in this scene, I thought of the moment when his closet door becomes a dimensional entrance to the space of Dreamland. Amos is near the Dreamland's moon as there is that fierce-looking Moon Beast...

My apologies to the Lovecraft fans, true or beginning, about me taking advantage of setting up some creative twists and directions for this possible idea.

Who knows if this will work. This is just a test. Wish me luck....

Zoog and Moon-Beast  © H.P.Lovecraft, Robert E. Howard, and Clark Ashton Smith/ Note: Even though most work that is published before 1923 are public domain in the United States, it is awfully uncertain to have any idea if work from Howard Phillips "H.P" Lovecraft are still copyrighted or might have in fact been expired. But alsa, Lovecraft, due to his generosity, is always willing for others, even his fans to have any use of his work.

Trivia: References everywhere. Can you find some? I'll point out one! The number 90 on Amos' shirt is a reference to the year Lovecraft was born, 1890. In fact, there is a cameo of Howard Phillips. See if you can find him. And Cthulhu is around here somewhere.
