One Thursday [to be exact, MARCH 29th], just an eve before my baby brother's 10th birthday, I've came across this overlooked yet marvelous lore filled with fairies and other whimiscal tales to tell. From the majestic and magical mind of this British Jewish author, there was one book she wrote that captured my interest...

"THE RAINBOW CAT & OTHER STORIES" [1922], by Rose Fyleman [1877 - 1957].

In this book, there are stories that associate with this chromatic fairy cat [namely RAINBOW CAT] and many other fairy-tale-like stories. There were actually 4 stories or "ADVENTURES" of Rainbow Cat. For starters, I thought of doing just one comic adaptation on one adventure for right now and perhaps do the other 3 adventures next time. 

Now, when my sibling's brother came the next day, on Friday, March 30th, we all celebrated his birthday a day later [Saturday, March 31st], in Medford for some of his favorite pizza brand and cake.  I remembered that he loves rainbows. With that being said, I did a birthday sketch for him that presents the Rainbow Cat. He loved it. And since I did that, I got interested in doing a comic adaptation right away. It took me longer than I expected, due to my job in that special program for disabled folks [like myself] and things that need to be done at home. [[[It took me 2 weeks and 6 days to get it done; From SATURDAY, MARCH 31st to FRIDAY, APRIL 20th, 2018]]].

With any hesitation, I present you folks "THE FIRST ADVENTURE OF THE RAINBOW CAT"....

.......or how I'd like to dub it with two titles: "THE RAINBOW CAT I" or "THE RAINBOW CAT AND THE THUNDER GIANT".

And so the Rainbow Cat decides to set out on his first adventure with his bag of assorted oddments. This is one of the first 4 adventures...

Artist's Note: In the original story, there were no exact descriptions of Fairyland nor any on the characters, except the Rainbow Cat. He was described to be a fairy cat [with no wings, of course] in all the colors of the rainbow. For a certain order, he has a violet nose, indigo eyes, pale blue ears, green front legs, a yellow body, orange back legs, and a red tail. He always has a wallet [or bag] of assorted oddments tied to his tail at all times. This bag of tricks the Rainbow Cat has surely predates the one Felix the Cat had in the 1954 cartoon series. Not to mention way back before that Nyan Cat [or that PopTart Cat] existed in 2011.

As for the rest, I had to decide and depict how everything and everybody are like in this story, considering it's a whimsical, enchanting fairy-themed story. That also includes having the Rainbow Cat's house under the same theme of rainbows.
